500L Brewery Equipment Project Overview
Compact Three-Vessel Brewhouse and 1000L Fermentation Tanks
DAS Bira is an independent craft brewery in Turkey producing a variety of craft beers. In 2018, the customer planned to establish a new brewery and needed a practical 500L brewing system with reliable performance and efficient use of space.
Because the customer had a limited budget and workshop space, we developed a customized brewing solution instead of a conventional turnkey system. The final design combined the brewhouse functions into a compact three-vessel configuration and included large-capacity fermentation tanks for double-batch brewing.
Equipment Configuration
The main equipment included:
- 500L commercial brewhouse
- Combined three-vessel brewing system
- Mash and lauter tank
- Boiling and whirlpool tank
- Separate hot water tank
- Hot water pump for brewing and sparging
- 1000L stainless steel fermentation tanks
- Sanitary piping and valves
- Brewing pumps and heat exchanger
- Working platform and access stairs
- Supporting control and process accessories
The 1000L fermentation tanks were selected to allow the brewery to produce two batches of beer from the 500L brewhouse. The tanks were equipped with top manways and related fittings for convenient operation and maintenance.
Customized Brewhouse Design
The brewhouse was designed as a compact three-vessel system to reduce equipment footprint and overall investment. The hot water tank was positioned below the mash and lauter tank, allowing it to supply both brewing water and sparging water through the hot water pump.
This arrangement helps save workshop space while keeping the brewing process practical and efficient. It also provides convenient access to the main valves, pumps, and process connections.
Stainless Steel Fermentation System
The fermentation tanks feature a sanitary stainless steel construction with conical bottoms, manways, pressure fittings, valves, and temperature-control connections.
The 1000L tank capacity provides additional flexibility for batch production and helps the brewery maintain a continuous brewing schedule.

Manufacturing and Installation
All tanks, pumps, valves, piping, and supporting components were manufactured according to the customer’s brewery layout and production requirements.
Before delivery, the equipment was inspected for welding quality, tank structure, sanitary connections, and overall assembly. The completed installation includes the brewhouse, fermentation tanks, working platform, process piping, and supporting equipment.

The customized 500L brewery equipment provided DAS Bira with a practical and cost-effective solution for craft beer production in Turkey. The compact three-vessel design saved space and investment, while the 1000L fermentation tanks allowed the brewery to increase production flexibility.
This project demonstrates our ability to design customized commercial brewery systems according to a customer’s budget, workshop conditions, and production goals.
